OUR MISSION
Supplementary English is an educational organization that encourages the study of English and conversation around diverse literature. Since there are very little opportunities for students to receive advice on pieces and discuss underrepresented literature, our mission is to provide a platform for literary review and conversations on the sociological institutionalism of controversial literature to all students.
OUR PROJECTS
Our organization's key objectives are to create a literary review platform for exceptional students, provide mentorship opportunities for students that seek help, and teach elementary school students advanced elements of English.
English Classes: The English classes are a long-term groups in which a teacher are assigned to teach 5-6 students in the same grade. This program has been existent since the organization's founding. Many of the lessons for each grade are already developed - however, teachers may need to create their own lessons to best suit the students' levels and needs.
Literary Review Group: The review groups will be comprised of talented students who have a deep interest in reading poems, short stories, personal stories, or many other types of literary works. This is a long-term program, and all groups will read literature from diverse authors of cultures and periods.
Mentorship Program (not currently accepting new applicants): A mentorship program will be created for students who want additional help with improving their works. This short-term program will be mostly used when students want to drop in and seek some brief advice on their works.
